The Delta State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources Barr Ada Val Arenyeka has reaffirmed the 35 per cent affirmative action for Women development in all sector

Barr Arenyeka gave the affirmation when the Nigeria Women in Agriculture paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Asaba the Delta State Capital

Barr.Val Arenyeka promised to provide opportunities to the Nigeria Women in Agriculture Cooperative Society if they meet every requirements in line with the ministry s mandate

According to him ,the 35 per cent affirmative action for Women groups in Agriculture would help to address gender disparities in the Agricultural sector while noting that it was part of the MORE Agenda of Governor Oborevwore to promote food security that will enable women fully participate in the economic growth of the states and the. Nation at large

He said he operates an open door policy that would promote agricultural policies and encouraged women tto fully participate and contribute to ensuring food security and economic development at both the state and the federal levels

The state coordinator Nigeria Women in Agricultural cooperative society ( Niwab )Oghehenyerhovwomen Bethel Ifeanyichukwu represented by Happy Kafayatu Rasahi stated the need for Women folks to be brought out poverty and appealed to the Agric Commissioner to use his office to support the aspirations of women in Agricultural cooperative society

According to her women are suffering and needed to change their old patterns of farming stressing that this could only be achieved through training as well as the acquisition of land for farming.
