The Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria, SWAN, has continued to demonstrate true integrity, professionalism, passion and impact through her public social responsibilities. Earlier today, the Asaba chapter of SWAN, headed by the Chapter Chairperson, Mrs. Evelyn Onyemaechi Odeh, FCA, actively demonstrated great sense of passion and professionalism during her Pad a Girl Child project held at Asaba Technical College Delta State. Mrs. Evelyn Odeh expressed satisfaction with the active participation of over one hundred and fifty students during sensitization session. According to her, it is imperative to catch them young as it will aid them in making a profitable career and proper vocational decisions in life, even as she promised that some of the projects lined up by SWAN will be taken to other schools in 2025. Speaking on Menstrual Hygiene, the Resource person, Doctor Jacdonmi Nkemdilim, a Resident Doctor of Aesthetics and Gynecology at Asaba Specialist Hospital, said Menstrual Hygiene is the best way to avoid infections and bad body odour. Dr. Jacdonmi added that, while ensuring neatness during Menstrual Flo, one should pay attention to the circle as it will help you prepare ahead of time and prevent embarrassment, adding that during Menstrual period, there is a tendency one might have hormonal imbalance and as such, it’s becomes imperative to take foods or supplements that will boost the hormones. She then advised the female students not to engage in any sexual activities which might result in a halt in their educational aspiration. Mrs. Ejiroghene Jacdonmi, the immediate past chairperson of SWAN, and other members of SWAN Asaba chapter, also educated the students on the benefits of being an ICAN member in future, highlighting some of the benefits to include, being a proficient professional in your field, as well as having easy access to jobs both locally and internationally, amongst others. Packs of sanitary Pads were then distributed to over 150 female students and they were encouraged to do more research and hopefully aspire to join the association. Responding to the lessons from the project, Miss Elijah Success Inyang, a Tech 2 student of Asaba Technical College, alongside other students, appreciated SWAN Asaba Chapter, acknowledging that they had learnt new things with more clearer illustrations. Miss Success thanked SWAN for giving them packs of sanitary pads and promised that they would follow all instructions given to them.
